It's a beautiful sunny September day and I have to admit, that I'd really rather be out enjoying the weather as the Canadian winter will be here again all too soon. Wait! I don't want to think about that! I'm enjoying thoughts of sitting in the garden and just enjoying the sunshine. There, that's much better.
Wait, I think I'd rather start on my new workshop. Just a second, I want to organize my office. Oops, I really need to get groceries. Oh, what's for dinner tonight? So how am I going to promote my next event? Oh, there are so many other things I could be doing, but I made the commitment to write a blog every Wednesday.
Does this sound like your brain sometimes? Do you wish you could be doing something else or starting a great project but instead you have to honour your commitments? Good news. I'm here to tell you, you're not alone.
I will tell you, that I believe successful entrepreneurs and business people push through with persistence to get things done that are not much fun when the sun is shining. However, the rewards of finishing your tasks and honouring your commitments far outweighs the immediate gratification of playing hooky or procrastinating and then rushing through it.
I love the feeling of accomplishment when I get my blog done, or another task on my list. Now, I can reward myself and go enjoy the sunshine.
Is it too early for a Margarita?
